Professional Musician, Concert and Festival organizer, teacher                                                                1996-Present

Ralitsa Tcholakova is a gifted international concert violinist and violin/viola teacher, impresario and promoter of Canadian culture domestically and internationally. Of particular interest to Ralitsa is raising awareness of the contribution women composers and performers have made to Canada and the world which she has done via her CDs, concerts, lectures, teaching and other performances. She has also been prominent in the movement to achieve reconciliation with Canada’s Indigenous peoples through the power of music. Finally she has become the go-to person for the Canadian political and diplomatic elites seeking to add a cultural dimension to their cultural events in Ottawa.

  • Performed as soloist with orchestras, chamber player and at festivals and giving master classes in Albania, Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, France, Germany, Macedonia, Paraguay, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Russia, Switzerland, Uruguay, UK and USA
  • Since 2006 performed in the Residency of the following embassies and ambassadors; Danish Ambassador’s Residency, Netherland’s Ambassador Residency, The Apostolic Nunciature (Holy See Embassy), Polish Embassy, Bulgarian Embassy, as well played concerts in collaboration with Bulgarian, Romanian, Polish, Sanish, Portuguese, Irish, EU delegation, Netherlands and Serbian Embassies in Ottawa.

  • Currently working on two CDs for solo violin with chamber orchestras

  • September 28, 2012 organized a concert promoting the music of Bulgarian-Canadian composers with a grant from SOCAN foundation, reception was given by the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria
  • August 6, 2012 Ottawa Chamber Festival, premiered a piece composed for my by Evelyn Stroobach
